TAROX have been offering their Corsa compound brake pad for nearly as long as VW have been making hot hatches. As the cars have developed so has pad compound technology. The TAROX Corsa pad was always the go to for track days and competition use on those early hot hatches but as time went on and the MK2 became the MK7, brown hair became grey and everything and everyone got heavier! This extra weight combined with the extra power had placed much more demand on the brake systems of modern fast VW’s.

TAROX are committed to offering a pad to drivers that offers the best compromise of road and track use. TAROX realised that many of the good track pads including our own Corsa compound were not legal for the road. With increasing scrutiny from both the police and insurance companies, it was crucial to offer drivers a brake pad which had all the performance necessary for track days while working from cold and most importantly being legal.
The Corsa brake pad is TAROX’s recommendation for drivers wanting the widest range of use from their brake pad and want to avoid changing pads out for track days. A working temperature range between 0° - 500°C and a coefficient of 0.41µ ensures brake torque (the power applied) is strong while remaining consistent (linear) under pedal pressure.
With the first re-maps appearing on the market for the Mk8 platform, it is possible to see stage 1 cars achieving 400 bhp. Such a substantial increase in power needs tempering and we believe, as it was with the Mk7, TAROX will be the go-to pad for drivers looking for the best all round performance brake pad.
